Making The Decision
Studying from home tends to suit most people because each of us learns at a different pace. We all have preferred times of day to study. For instance some of us learn more easily in the morning, while others are night-owls who prefer to burn the midnight oil. With home study you are free to work at the time that suits you best. You can also:
Start and finish your course when it suits you
Most college courses start each September. But when you study at home, you can begin
your course whenever you like.
Keep flexible hours
Take your time and spread your modules over several weeks - or devote more time to your studies so you finish them earlier and can start looking for a new job.
Drop everything for your family
Sometimes you may have to put your family's needs before your studies. It's easier to set aside your studies when you're studying from home - and easier to pick them up again when matters are resolved. Unlike at college, you won't find that the rest of the class has left you behind - and there won't be anyone to criticise you for being late with your homework or for not completing an assignment on time! Staying in control of your studies and working with your Course Tutor makes it easier to remain motivated and committed. Plus as a member of our Virtual Learning Community you can touch base with fellow students and source additional, useful material.
